Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon: MUFON Sighting Of The Month: Case #52966

Loveland, Colorado. Reported in Dec. 2013 but occurred on 7/27/2012.

A highly qualified witness reported a cigar-shaped object near Loveland, Colorado. The witness is a microbiologist with a degree in chemistry, service as a navigator in the U.S. Navy, and experienced with aircraft identification due to his training in the Civil Air Patrol.

His attention to the unknown object was drawn to two unusual characteristics: the extremely slow speed (he expected a stall) and the lack of observable wings or tail. Further, what appeared to be windows within a blue stripe on the object, were larger and more rectangular than typically observed on commercial aircraft.

The witness’s report is as follows:

“As I was walking out to my car I happened to look up to the west and saw what I assumed was a jetliner, but it was going really slow. I kept looking up at it thinking that plane is going to stall out and crash because I didn’t hear anything; it was completely silent. It was headed directly toward Denver International Airport as so many planes do like it was making its final approach. But then I was thinking to myself, ‘that doesn’t look right’. I had aircraft identification in Civil Air Patrol and could not see any wings or engines. But I thought maybe I’m seeing it at a bad angle and if I keep watching it I’ll see a wing or engine; the whole time thinking it’s going too slow. Then I noticed this thing doesn’t even have a tail, there was no tail or stabilizer. I kept walking to my car and looking up at it every few seconds. I got in my car and as the car was warming up, I watched it more intently and noticed the windows running the length of the fuselage were bigger than a passenger plane has. They were more rectangular and bigger than planes have. I had not noticed it sooner because there was a dark blue thick stripe running down the length of the middle of the fuselage. Above and below the blue stripe the rest of the fuselage was metallic like a lot of planes. That’s why I didn’t really notice at first this thing didn’t have wings or engines because of the blue stripe.”

Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon: An Anatomy Of A Cover-up And Disinformation

The Alan Godfrey Close Encounter Experience – An Update

One of the most impressive close encounter cases took place in the small Penninemill town of Todmorden, West Yorkshire, right in the centre of Britain’s most active window area known locally as “UFO Alley”.

Police Constable Alan Godfrey was on patrol on the night of 28 November 1980. Just before dawn he drove along Burnley Road on the edge of Todmorden looking for some cows that had been reported missing when he encountered An Unidentified Aerial Object hovering a few feet off the ground blocking the road in front of him.

Two years after his close encounter, Godfrey became aware of the ridicule, character assassination, false mental stability implications and attempted cover-up of his experience.

Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon: Florida Airline Pilot Spots UAP At Springsteen Concert

I don’t usually write about UAP encounters unless there are multiple witnesses to the event and the high-caliber of the primary witness. This case comes from an airline pilot with 34 years of flying experience with a very detailed report of the phenomenon making impossible maneuvers which can be collaborated.

A Florida airline pilot who was outside with family in Sunrise exiting a Bruce Springsteen concert reported watching a “large, pulsating, bright white light” that changed shape and color and conducted maneuvers in the sky before moving away at “tremendous speed,” according to May 3, 2014, testimony in Case 55981 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness identified himself as a current airline pilot with 34 years of experience based in Fort Lauderdale who is familiar with air traffic for the local area. Springsteen was in concert April 29, 2014, at the BB&C Center in Sunrise. The witness was exiting the concert about 11:25 p.m. on April 29.

“I know where airplanes should be and I know where they should not be if they have no intention of landing in KFLL on Runway 10L,” the witness stated. “This object I saw was obviously not landing on 10L and should not have been in the final approach corridor.”

The witness described the object.

“I approximate the object/orb/light to have been about 1500-2000 feet between the final approach fix NOVAE and PIONN. These GPS fixes are noted on the ILS 10L Approach Plate for KFLL. That would place it approximately 8-10 miles due west of KFLL on the 270 deg radial.”

The witness noticed other people in the crowd looking at the object.

“As we were coming out the front doors with thousands of fans, I noticed a group of people pointing and staring in the southern sky. I looked up to see what they were watching and saw the following: An extremely bright, pulsating, round white light appeared to be slowly moving north toward the arena. I immediately assumed in was an aircraft on base leg getting ready to make a right turn to land at KFLL. The landing light, or what I thought was a landing light, was extremely bright. Thinking back it really was too bright to be an aircraft but I figured it could be.”

The object then began to pulsate and seemed to change shape.

“It started pulsating from bright white to pulsating blue to red to back to blue, etc. It slowed and I thought it had begun a turn to the east to set up for landing but it appeared to stop in mid-air. The bright light then changed to a star pattern-like design, but the best I can describe it is appeared to be like a bright blue asterisk just like this *. At least three, maybe four but I believe three crossed lines of bright blue crossed lines, steady, not moving, stationary.”

The witness tried to dismiss the light as a known object.

“Before the asterisk design appeared, I kept trying to dismiss this event as first, a jet aircraft inbound to KFLL from the south. But no noise could be heard and the landing lights were too bright for a jet. Then when it appeared to stop in mid-air I figured it to be a helicopter. But still no noise. Then when the star-asterisk (*) pattern appeared, I assumed maybe it to be a helicopter with advertising on the skids – but no written message or ad appeared, just the bright asterisk design.”

The object then changed again before flying quickly away.

“Seconds later the asterisk image disappeared, but a small white orb/light stayed. It then made two or three extremely fast, zigzag flight maneuvers that I have never seen any worldly flying aircraft make. It then suddenly stopped and then shot straight up out of sight at an extreme rate of speed that I cannot explain and not have I ever seen an aircraft or helicopter do before. This whole incident only last about one minute from the time I saw other people watching something to the time it shot upwards to the stars and disappeared.”

The object did not return and there were multiple witnesses to the event, including family members.

“The weather that evening was clear skies. No clouds that I can recall, Visibility was good to excellent, temperature in the low 80s. I could not make out any shape of the object. Only the bright pulsating light that changed colors and shape as described above.”

Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon: Special Forces veteran reports UAP over Afghanistan

For over 50 years there have been numerous UAP encounters involving military aircraft around the globe, from the “Foo Fighters” of World War II to the Iranian incident of the 70’s, (Read about it here) and the Belgian “flap” of the 90s for example.

There have also been incidences of UAPs over nuclear missile sites disabling the launch control systems of over 50 nuke tipped ICBMs in America on numerous occasions (Click here for more).

Unbeknownst to the general public, the world was on a brink of World War III when an Unidentified Aerial Object “activated” one of Russia’s land based nuclear missile sites, literally putting the rockets on launch readiness.

It appears the phenomenon is “interested” in the world’s military and the hardware associated with it.

Special Forces veteran report

On April 24, 2014, A Special Forces Army veteran reported a UAP encounter with a low flying sphere-shaped object while serving in Afghanistan, according to testimony in Case 55741 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness said his entire Army unit saw the object May 10, 2004, that was so close they “could have thrown a rock and hit it” after it first appeared “out of nowhere.”

“It floated over one of the mountains from the south, east of the base we built,” the witness stated. “It made no noise and you could not see it with the naked eye.”

The witness said they were observing the object with night vision goggles.

“It looked like a light bulb, but it was a sphere. You could almost see through it, but it was glowing. It lit up the ground with its I.R. lights, but you could not see this craft without that night vision!”

The witness said everyone stopped to watch the object.

“We were like amazed, in awe, as we observed this craft. It was hovering about 50-100 feet in the air. Its speed was around 5-10 mph. It was about 100 yards from the outside perimeter of our base camp – the west side of our base. It hovered about a mile north of us.”

The base commander was alerted to the object.

“As we were watching this craft, our commander was inside the base camp about a quarter-mile to the southeast of our position. Also seeing this craft, he got on the radio and announced to get back to work. It’s nothing.”

But the witness and his group continued to watch the object a while longer.

“I was on the mark 19. We had it mounted on the back of a Humvee. My squad leader was in the passenger seat and a friend of mine was in the driver seat. We was pulling roaming security from one traffic control point to the other – from the south of the base to the north of our base camp. After our commander said get back to work, we watched this craft for about 10 more minutes before we had to turn around and head back north.”

The witnesses’ group watched the object over another area outside of their camp.

“The craft stopped about quarter-mile northeast of our position and it stopped at a campfire that these goat/cow herders had made. The UFO shot out a beam at the herders’ camp, but we couldn’t see the base of the fire – just the flickering of it on the backside of the mountain. We was cut off from seeing what they was doing with that beam of light.”

The witnesses’ squad leader then instructed everyone to get back to work.

“The specialist turned the Humvee around and we started driving north to the north T.C.P. and I wanted to finish watching this craft, but we lost sight of it when we left. A hill was blocking our view – the same hill that was blocking the beam that we seen.”

Just a minute later, the witness said he saw the object leaving the campfire area.

It took off so fast at a 90-degree angle, straight up into outer space. It seemed like the lights on the craft had a delayed reaction because the craft took off so fast – like its lights took a few seconds to catch up to the craft. It left at an alarming rate. It made dashes of light into the sky never to be seen again.”

The witness kept the story private before reporting today.

“First time I told anyone about this besides my family. This is just a brief description of what happened. I wanted to try to make a 3-dimensional re-creation of what happened.”

Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon: MUFON Sighting Of The Month

MUFON Sighting Of The Month

 April Sighting Of The Month

 Case #52339

 Adel, Georgia. Nov. 19, 2013. 6:20pm

A large triangular-shaped object was observed by two well qualified witnesses. One was an aircraft technician in the Army with a military intelligence background and the other was an aircraft mechanic in the Air Force. They both had 38 years experience.

On November 19th 2013 at 6:20pm they both observed a huge triangular flying object that flew about 500 ft above them moving roughly from North to South. It was past dusk and was a fairly clear night. They both said that the object had a wing span larger than a C-5A cargo plane. The object flew slowly at 10 – 15 knots (12-17 mph) and silently with no noise. The rear of the object displayed a row of white pulsing lights. As it moved away a very small drone like object was noticed flying alongside on the left. When the object got further out it banked to the Southeast allowing them to see clearly the triangular shape of the object.

The slow speed allowed the witnesses to examine the object closely. The words of one of the witnesses best describes what they saw:

“I could almost make out what appeared to be seams in the material, but it was not shiny; more dull and like carbon fiber. The leading edge was rounded and there was no tail to say, (in today’s aircraft everything has a vertical stabilizer with a stabilizer or ailerons. Sort of like a big T. You know what I mean and the anti-collision lights go on top bottom and left and right.)”

“I walked under it trying to make out markings, but it was just blending in with the sky so good the only way to tell the outline was that it was blocking out the stars and what few clouds where there. The ends had a reddish/pink glow but not strobes or rotating beacons. I could not make out a cockpit. It turned to the south-east towards Moody Air Force Base as if it was in a pattern but way too low. As it did this I could see the back of it. This is why I say it looked like a big wing. The lights on the back were from left to right, and white, not strobes, but pulsing. Dave said that’s a tight formation; then as it banked he said John that’s one single object. I said yeah I know but damned if I know what.”

Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon: A Commercial Pilot And UAP Skeptic Photographs Unidentified Aerial Object Over Caloundra, Australia

A Commercial Pilot And UAP Skeptic Photographs Unidentified Aerial Object

Note: I usually don’t post images of alleged unidentified aerial phenomenon as they can easily be misidentification’s of explainable objects. However, in this case, the witness is an experienced pilot and was a hard-core skeptic regarding the UAP enigma.

A commercial pilot with more than 30 years’ flying experience has been left scratching his head over mysterious lights he saw over Caloundra, Australia on Good Friday.

The pilot, who does not want to be identified, said he had never seen anything through the cockpit window that compared to the experience. It has the self-confessed “world’s greatest skeptic” questioning everything he believes about UAPs. The Pelican Waters man was admiring the sky with friends about 8pm last Friday when they first saw two coloured lights in the sky.

He said they reminded him of Chinese lanterns, rising high into the sky and heading south and then east.

Then a third warm-orange glow appeared and suddenly changed direction, tracked north-east and quickly disappeared. “We were looking for an identifier; a beacon or strobe light but there wasn’t any,” he said. “I thought it had the characteristics of an object that could fly and I was curious as to what the lights were.”

Still not thinking “UAP”, he grabbed his camera and took this photo

Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon

It was only when he downloaded the images to his computer he was able to zoom in and see what appeared to be wing tips and the slight outline of an aircraft-like body. “I was surprised … with the clarity with the camera,” he said. “At first I was curious because it was moving so quickly, moving at a speed that I have never seen a lantern or something of that sort doing. “When we zoomed in later we thought, ‘Wow, that has a shape to it’.” While there were other planes and helicopters in the sky that night, he said none of them had the same flight pattern.

He is open to the possibility of it being a military operation, but he said he didn’t think they resembled that type of aircraft either. “I have heard of and seen many, many things in my career and have flown all over the world … but nothing like this,” he said. “I think it is fascinating and if there is some credibility to it … it has changed my mind that there could be something else out there.”

Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon: Former Beatle Sensation, John Lennon’s Amazing UFO/UAP Experience

According to UAP research by various organizations, approximately one out of ten people have witnessed the phenomenon at some time in their lives. Out of that number, approximately one out of ten of those witnesses actually report or tell about their experience for a number of reasons, which is understandable, including the ridicule associated with the phenomenon.

That includes the rich and famous of course!

In 1974, former Beatle John Lennon witnessed an unidentified aerial object in New York City. He was living in an apartment in Manhattan with girlfriend May Pang when he saw the saucer-shaped craft.

It wasn’t just a light in the sky and there were other witnesses. This sighting was up-close, of a huge craft, and it happened right outside Lennon’s 52nd Street apartment. He wasn’t afraid to talk about it and, in fact, he famously wrote about it in a song. This was “Nobody Told Me” and, as Lennon sang it, “There’s UFOs over New York and I ain’t too surprised… Nobody told me there’d be days like these. Strange days indeed.”

The sighting occurred when he was living with May Pang, his so-called “personal secretary” who’d turned into a lover during Lennon’s separation from Yoko Ono. It was a hot August night, August 23, 1974, when John Lennon walked out on his balcony facing the East River to catch a cool breeze. He was completely naked. He started yelling at Pang to come out to the terrace.

When she did, she saw what he saw. According to her description later, it was a “large, circular object coming towards us. It was shaped like a flattened cone and on top was a large, brilliant red light, not pulsating as on any of the aircraft we’d see heading for a landing at Newark Airport. When it came a little closer, we could make out a row or circle of white lights that ran around the entire rim of the craft – these were also flashing on and off. There were so many of these lights that it was dazzling to the mind.

It was, I estimate, about the size of a Lear jet and it was so close that if we had something to throw at it, we probably would have hit it quite easily.” The sighting lasted from five to ten minutes, and the UAP drifted away and came back before sprinting off into the sky. Apparently, Lennon and Pang weren’t the only ones to see the unidentified aircraft, multiple other witnesses (at least seven) had called city newspapers.

It took a lot of courage for Lennon to talk this openly. For starters, he was a Beatle and everyone knew he’d taken his share of mind-altering drugs. Then there was the fact that he wasn’t dressed when he saw it. Under those conditions, to come forward to talk about seeing a UAP was to risk certain ridicule from at least some people, if not a majority. Even more discrediting from the public point of view, he also claimed to have seen one when he was a child.

In the standards of 1974, John Lennon was not a “good” witness. But Lennon was never shy about speaking his mind, even about UAPs. His courage makes it easier for other witnesses even today. Bottom line: John Lennon and May Pang reported to have seen something approximating a “classic” saucer shaped UAP, hovering outside their apartment in New York, something that was the size of a private jet aircraft, from only a hundred yards away, so close they felt they could almost touch it.

Given Lennon’s reputation for brutal honesty, one has think that some fans who did not give much credence to UAP sightings have had to stop and re-consider their positions. You can bet that if John Lennon actually just celebrated his 70th birthday, he would have had a lot more to say on this subject over these last three decades. Just gimme some truth, he’d have demanded. Imagine.

Lennon also portrayed drawings which were auctioned off along with several other John Lennon sketches from the 1970s last Friday, March 21 by CooperOwen Auctions in London. The drawings were given to guitarist Jesse Ed Davis from Lennon. Davis was a session musician who played lead guitar on Lennon’s albums “Walls and Bridges” and “Rock and Roll”. Other drawings by Lennon auctioned included scenery in Japan from 1979 and a sketch of Lennon, Pang and Harry Nilsson in Palm Springs in 1974.

May Pang’s Account Of The UAP Sighting

May Pang says John had always been fascinated by UFOs… he subscribed to a British UFO Magazine, the ‘Flying Saucer Review’. “I had just stepped out of the shower one Friday night toward the end of August when I heard John shout. “Fung Yee, come here.”

May recalls how John sounded “panic-stricken” as he screamed, “Now, Fung Yee. Now!” May immediately ran outside beside John to ask him what was the matter. Lennon pointed to the sky, “Look up there. Tell me what you see.”

May couldn’t believe her eyes. She described what she saw as “a saucer shaped object surrounded by blinking white lights gliding through the sky”, she was “astonished”. It was difficult for her to believe what she was actually seeing, yet still, she was convinced she was witnessing a genuine UAP! She then began to laugh.

John questioned her laughter, and because they were both naked, she humorously replied, “Suppose it’s looking at us. Maybe they think that everyone who lives on the East Side wanders around naked on their balconies on Friday evenings. We look like Adam and Eve.” They went back inside to get a telescope to further study this strange object in the night sky.

May and John weren’t the only ones to witness the UAP. Reports of this phenomenon had been made to both the local police station and to the newspapers. May had never previously believed in the UAP enigma, but after this experience she wrote, “Now I’ve seen it I do believe it.”

What is particularly notable about this account is that May then refers to John describing the object as a “spaceship”… so there’s little doubt that neither May nor John thought they might have mistaken an aircraft, weather balloon or whatever as a UAP. John incorporated the UAP incident on the artwork of ‘Walls and Bridges’. On the bottom right (of the back cover) is written: “On 23 August 1974, I saw a UFO. J.L.”

Lennon mentions UAP sightings on two of his albums.
