Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon: If Some UAPs Are ETI, Then It Must Be Beyond Our Comprehension

#UAPResearch

Advanced Life May Exist in a Form That’s Beyond Matter

Astrophysicist Paul Davies at Arizona State University suggests that advanced technology might not even be made of matter. That it might have no fixed size or shape; have no well-defined boundaries. Is dynamical on all scales of space and time. Or, conversely, does not appear to do anything at all that we can discern. Does not consist of discrete, separate things; but rather it is a system or a subtle higher-level correlation of things.

Are matter and information, Davies asks, all there is? Five hundred years ago, Davies writes, ” the very concept of a device manipulating information, or software, would have been incomprehensible. Might there be a still higher level, as yet outside all human experience, that organizes electrons? If so, this “third level” would never be manifest through observations made at the informational level, still less at the matter level.

We should be open to the distinct possibility that advanced alien technology a billion years old may operate at the third, or perhaps even a fourth or fifth level, all of which are totally incomprehensible to the human mind at our current state of evolution.

I’ve been saying this for years. If we were confronted by such a civilization, would we be able to recognize it for what it is?

Susan Schneider of the University of Pennsylvania appears to agree. She is one of the few thinkers—outside the realm of science fiction— that have considered the notion that artificial intelligence is already out there, and has been for eons.

Her study, Alien Minds, asks “How would intelligent aliens think? Would they have conscious experiences? Would it feel a certain way to be an alien?”

While we are aware that our culture is anthropomorphizing, Schneider imagines that her suggestion that aliens are supercomputers may strike us as far-fetched. So what is her rationale for the view that most intelligent alien civilizations will have members that are superintelligent AI?

Schneider presents offer three observations that support her conclusion for the existence of alien superintelligence.

The first is “the short window observation”: Once a society creates the technology that could put them in touch with the cosmos, they are only a few hundred years away from changing their own paradigm from biology to AI.

This “short window” makes it more likely that the aliens we encounter would be postbiological…like this photo? Is it alive, or a craft, or both, or neither?

The short window observation is supported by human cultural evolution, at least thus far. Our first radio signals date back only about one hundred twenty years, and space exploration is only about fifty years old, but we are already immersed in digital technology.

Schneider’s second argument is “the greater age of alien civilizations.” Proponents of SETI have often concluded that alien civilizations would be much older than our own “…all lines of evidence converge on the conclusion that the maximum age of extraterrestrial intelligence would be billions of years, specifically [it] ranges from 1.7 billion to 8 billion years.

If civilizations are millions or billions of years older than us, many would be vastly more intelligent than we are. By our standards, many would be superintelligent. We are galactic babies.

We are fledglings who haven’t left our nest yet.

But would they be forms of AI, as well as forms of superintelligence? Schneider says, yes. Even if they were biological, merely having biological brain enhancements, their superintelligence would be reached by artificial means, and we could regard them as being “artificial intelligence.”

But she suspects something stranger than this: that they will not be carbon-based. Uploading allows a creature near immortality, enables reboots, and allows it to survive under a variety of conditions that carbon-based life forms cannot. In addition, silicon appears to be a better medium for information processing than the brain itself. Neurons reach a peak speed of about 200 Hz, which is seven orders of magnitude slower than current microprocessors.

Life was Common in the Early Universe, We are the Latecomers.

How long has there been life in the Cosmos? Perhaps some thirteen billion years.

That’s nine billion years before our star even ignited!

Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon: Why Haven’t We Discovered Aliens Yet?

#UAPResearch

‘Alien’ is defined as ‘a hypothetical or fictional being from another world’. For countless years, mankind has been obsessed with what lies above, whether in the form of deities or little green men in an unidentified flying object. And when science developed the technology that probing the universe was finally possible, Earth leaped at the opportunity.

The search for extraterrestrial life has been a popular subject for the past century, and yet it doesn’t feel like any significant progress has been made towards discovering Earth’s neighbors in the Cosmos. The scientific community is divided on why alien life proves so elusive, maybe because there’s very little that smart people agree on. But it’s a good idea to be well-informed on the possibilities by thinking outside the box.

Here are a few theories I’ve entertained over the decades.

4-Dimensional Beings

Picture what a two-dimensional being would be like. It would be flat because it would lack depth. Its surroundings would similarly only be measured by length and width as well. A two-dimensional being would be unable to comprehend or even look upon a three-dimensional being such as humans. Now imagine how a four- dimension being would seem to us with our measly three dimensions.

When a scientist talks about dimensions, they most likely mean a set of numbers by which space is measured. In the case of three dimensions, the measurements length, width, and depth. Scientists are unsure of what the fourth dimension could be, though the most common hypothesis is time, meaning that these theoretical creatures exist out of a linear perception of time.

This theory posits that aliens do exist and may have discovered us, and they might even be more populous than us. They could exist in the same space that people do, but humans aren’t able to perceive or understand such a high level being such as that.

They Aren’t Anything We Recognize

In Terry Bisson’s short story They’re Made Out of Meat, two aliens have discovered the human race, while one tries to explain to its partner that humans are ‘made of meat’. It’s implied that the two aliens, and every other known species, is not made of flesh and bone but could instead be machines, bio-machines or any number of things incomprehensible to a human. The alien has difficulty understanding the concept, and it leaves a hollow feeling about the narrow way humans look for alien life.

The way used to search involves finding the things that humans need to survive. This makes sense, it is geared towards a human understanding of life, but it might not be the correct one. They might not require oxygen or water, and scientists don’t know if the only kind of life that exists is ours, and thus have not calibrated their searches for anything else.

Aliens could only be a stone’s throw away, and our definition of life could just be too narrow to include them.

They’re Ignoring Us

In They’re Made Out of Meat, the aliens look at humans (once they are done deliberating about what they’re made of) and decide to ignore them. Their job is to make contact with any life they discover, but they can’t get their heads around contacting a life form made of flesh, so they mark the sector as unoccupied and move on. So, what if aliens discovered humans decades or even centuries ago, and decided that they weren’t worth the effort of talking to?

That’s a little hurtful to the collective self-esteem of the species, but if a super-advanced race of aliens that had outgrown constant war and conflict looked at Earth, maybe it’s not unreasonable. Or, it could be like the Prime Directive in Star Trek, and they have to wait until mankind develops sufficiently. The downside to this theory is that it does not seem likely that any alien would think another type of life form is completely unremarkable.

Either way, they know humans are out here, and it’s a coin toss as to whether or not they’re watching.

We Haven’t Been Listening

The first primary method to search for alien life is to send radio signals out into the universe, hoping for a reply back. The second is through our latest technologies like telescopes, seeing planets and checking for things like water, an atmosphere, etc. That is our method of communication, looking and calling out if anybody is there, but it hasn’t yielded results, and that might be because they’ve been replying, and humans haven’t been paying attention.

Statistically, the current method is the best choice, but it could be that aliens have been trying to talk to humans for ages, and neither party has a compatible means of communication. Imagine if someone were trying to call you on a cell phone and all you had were smoke signals.

It is impossible to say if humans are the ones with the phone or the smoke signals in that scenario, but either way, everyone will feel silly when they realize they had been blustering around, doing it wrong the entire time.

The Great Filter

Maybe Earth isn’t the first, or rare, or has been doing the right form of communication, but it doesn’t matter, because every other life form that has ever existed in the galaxy is dead, and has been for a long time. That’s the Great Filter Theory, which I don’t really agree with, there comes a point in a
species’ development that they experience an Extinction Level Event, (ELE), and they are wiped off the map.

Earth has experienced five (and are in the middle of a sixth today), and humans have managed to come out of them, either through blundering into the right place at the right time or some natural advantage we didn’t know we had. However, if Earth was successful beyond all other planets, then that means much more failed. Perhaps Earth passed up the Great Filter years ago. Or, the more unsettling part of the theory, that Earth hasn’t passed the filter, but every other species has, and it will hit any day now.

That might just be worse than being stalked by 4-dimensional creatures.

Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon: I’ve Seen Through The Looking Glass: Theories anyone?

#UAPResearch

Hello world. I feel it’s my duty as a human being and fellow citizen to share my experience, as ridiculous as it sounds, and regardless of the consequences for speaking out. Hopefully, mainstream scientists will also take this seriously as it would be helpful when all of humanity, will become aware of other, unexpected, profound realities.

“I’ve been around for a while…met a lot of interesting people…done some crazy things”.

That being said, I’m a man of science, not a “UFO/ET Believer”.

I’m not an author or a writer, just a one finger typer, just Joe Citizen with an above average interest in science and nature…everything from Palaeontology, Biology, Archaeology to Astrobiology. Space Science is my forte.

You can read all “About Me” by clicking HERE.

My UAP Experience

I had a life altering experience about 30 years ago, around the late 70’s or early 80’s. I witnessed some kind of enormous, circular, Mysterious Aircraft with lights around the perimeter. I still remember it today as if it happened yesterday.

Every time when I used to tell my story, I would literally relive the whole experience. What I mean by “used to tell” is because I no longer bother. Nobody listens, nobody cares and most don’t believe it anyway.

On that note, I’m going to tell it for the last time.

In the winter of the late 70s or early 80s, January perhaps, I just got off work at 9:30 P.M. from the auto dealership. I was a car salesman at the time. I started driving towards the city of Toronto, Canada, on the QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way) eastbound to meet some friends at a bar on the Esplanade (a street lined with nightclubs).

I was not under the influence of any drug or alcohol.

As I was driving, I noticed a string of lights slowly rotating counter-clockwise over the city of Toronto, at about the ten o’clock position from my point of view. This caught my eye because these formation of lights were very unusual. The lights were evidently in a circular pattern with about two-thirds visible as the other third rotated out of view.

Imagine a pie plate with about 25 lights around the circumference of it. As this “pie plate” would revolve, a third of these lights would be hidden from view as if they were obstructed by a solid body. It was at night so all I could see was these rotating string of lights, but they were definitely on a “fixed” platform as the lights were revolving in perfect unison.

Although I’ve heard of Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon and was curious, at that time in my life, I didn’t really give that much thought about them. I’ve always been interested in nature and especially about the universe. I’ve seen all kinds of aircraft and advertising blimps at night before. I drove taxi’s off and on for fifteen years on the night shift and have seen countless meteors, lightning, satellites, etc.

On two occasions I’ve even seen extremely bright, slow falling, green fireball meteors lighting up the ground, for a couple of seconds, as if it was daylight. I’ve read, in later years, were other witnesses reported green fireballs as Unidentified Flying Objects. I chuckled to myself thinking how easily “UFO believers” can be fooled by natural phenomenon.

Anyway, these circle of lights were slowly descending and approaching towards me (westbound), while I was driving about 115 kilometers per hour on the highway (eastbound). These lights were getting closer and closer as “we” approached each other. I recall thinking to myself that this must be some kind of advertising balloon and those lights were letters.

As I kept driving, I was paying more and more attention to this object because the closer it was getting, the more unusual it looked. I kept glancing at it, while driving, waiting until it was close enough to read what these letters were saying, still thinking it was some kind of advertising blimp. The closer it got, the more I looked at it.

Now at my nine o’clock position, the string of rotating lights appeared to bank left like an airplane would “turning right”. Actually, it wasn’t banking at all. It was dipping forward pointing towards the ground. At this point, I realized that these lights were not letters at all. They were all different shapes and sizes, yellowish white in color.

For years of scouring the internet, I finally found this photograph, Literally Identical to what I, or rather, “we” saw. I’m convinced it’s the same craft. The only difference is the color of the lights.

Take A Look At My Drawings I made Years Before this 1988 photo – My Official UAP Report

CLICK HERE For The Photo Analysis Of The Object.

Photo courtesy of Center For UFO Studies

Report Summary of the above photograph taken by a police officer:

Randy Etting, a resident of Newtown, was taking a walk outside his home. A commercial airline pilot with over 30 years experience, he always looked at the sky… he saw a number of orange and red lights… approaching from the west… He… got his binoculars and called his neighbors to come outside. The object by this time was a great deal closer and seemed to be over I-84, just east of Etting’s home… the lights were shimmering like distortion from engine heat, but he could hear no sound…

“As the UFO passed over I-84, cars in both the east and westbound lanes began pulling over and stopping. The UFO displayed a semi-circular pattern of very bright multicolored lights. Five motorists reported that, as the object became visible, “a number of cars lost power and had to pull off the highway” (a common characteristic of the phenomenon reported). A State Police officer [who wishes to remain anonymous] sent to investigate photographed the object.

“… Dr. Bruce Maccabee… [analyzed the photo]. His findings indicate the object was huge, perhaps over a thousand feet across, and that the lights showed a definite pattern. He also indicated the lights seemed to have been flashing very quickly in some sort of sequence, giving the impression that some were out of focus while others were sharp.

During the time when this Strange “Craft” started to bank left, or I thought from my point of view, I was struggling with myself trying to understand whether this was a plane of some kind, a blimp, or balloon. It was flying too slow for a plane, yet, too fast for a blimp.

Also, it didn’t appear to be flying or floating. The best way I can describe its motion is that it looked like it was “sailing” in the sky, defying gravity, as if it was in its own, separate environment, outside our sphere of perception.

What’s interesting here is that the human brain tries to associate what the eyes are seeing, to something already seen or experienced before. That’s why I was at war with myself trying to decide whether this object was a plane, blimp or a balloon. Every time I resigned myself to what I must be witnessing, I jumped to another conclusion. This jumping from one conclusion to another occurred during the whole experience.

I was imagining all kinds of things.

For example, if it was a plane, the only way these lights could have been positioned was in a circle because this plane must have had some kind of supporting structure in a circle from wing tip to wing tip. This didn’t make any sense at all. I’ve seen advertising planes before. This was nothing like this. Not even close. Then I was trying to imagine a “Goodyear blimp” with these letters going across its side. This was nothing like it either.

So here I was, trying to drive and watch this object at the same time. As I was driving, I started to slow down because I kept looking at this circle of lights more than the road ahead of me. In retrospect, I don’t even know how I kept my car on the road because I was so awed by this display in the sky.

As the object kept dipping forward more and more, it eventually ended up totally perpendicular to the ground! The first thing that came to mind was a giant Ferris wheel rotating in the sky. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing! At this point I slowed down to about 50 KPH (30 miles an hour on a 60 MPH highway for my American friends) and put my four-way, flashing hazard lights on my car fearing that another car would crash into the back of me for going so slow on a 100 KPH highway.

As I was mesmerized by this strange Aerial Object, a surge of adrenaline hit me like a ton of bricks. I didn’t realize how BIG this thing was. At first, I thought it was the size of an airplane fairly close. IT WAS GIGANTIC! Absolutely ENORMOUS in size. At least twice the size of a football field, bigger than an aircraft carrier!

It must have been miles away. I don’t know what gave away its size. Maybe the reflections of light on the ground. The best way I can relate this sudden realization is like one of those illusions most of us have seen. You know, when you look at a pixel drawing with an image you can’t see until you stare at it for a while? After a period of time, you make out the face of a woman or something like that? That’s kind of the transformation I experienced. At first, I thought the object was the size of a large plane than suddenly I REALLY saw it. My brain finally got it.

IT WAS HUGE!!!

I’ve never seen a structure this enormous on the ground, on the water, let alone in the air!

I yelled out loud to myself, “Holy F**k, It’s Huge!!!”. I don’t F***ing believe it, it’s F***ing Huge!!!. I thought it was fairly close at first, then bang! it was farther away and larger than my brain first comprehended it.

Speaking about this surge of adrenaline. Have you ever had a really close call in a car accident? When your heart rate skyrockets to about 180 beats per minute? That’s what I felt when I realized how Gargantuan this craft was! I could actually feel my heart pounding in my chest like crazy. To be frank, that’s when it literally scared the hell out of me, when I realized how enormous this thing was.

At this point, I rolled down my window and pointed to this giant “Ferris wheel” in the sky to the other motorists, but it appeared no one seemed to notice as they screamed by me at regular highway speeds. I remember how cold it was when I rolled down my window. It was something like minus 30 Celsius below zero.

After, I don’t know how long, probably only a few seconds of rotating in this perpendicular position, the craft started to climb and right itself and “sail” back to the direction it originally came from. I rolled up my window, turned off my hazard lights, and started to speed up to chase it. Still, it seemed other motorists didn’t notice this object. That still irks me to this day why nobody seemed to notice it. Do most drivers have tunnel vision?

As I was approaching the city limits, this object was in its flat position again climbing over the city. Then, all of a sudden, the rotating lights turned off except for a red “aircraft like” blinking light (which I never noticed before). After a few seconds, the rotating lights turned on again. It was like in the movie “Close Encounters Of The Third Kind“. The lights just blasted on. Then after a few seconds, they turned off again as it seemed to be over the city. Strange behavior. It appeared to be showing off, wanting to be seen.

Now I was exiting off of the highway onto Spadina Rd. I lost track of these lights because of the tall buildings. When I was on the street where I was going, “Esplanade”, I saw a cop parked on the other side of the road writing a parking ticket. I stopped in the middle of the road and ran over to him. He was quite taken aback by my seemingly aggressive approach. I asked him, “how long have you been here?” I forgot what he said, but I asked, “did you see that big circle of lights flying in the sky? He said “no”.

After parking my car, I met my friends at the bar, “Bailey’s”, (Dave B. and Craig C.) and told them what happened, but they didn’t take me seriously as they’ve already had a few drinks and were more interested in the ladies than listening to my astonishing, wild experience. After sitting at the bar by myself for an hour or so I went home. I was living at my parent’s house at the time, temporarily, so when I got home around 11 P.M., I called the police.

I didn’t know who else to phone at the time.

They didn’t take me seriously of course so, after that, I phoned the Toronto International Airport and managed to get through to Air Traffic Control and asked them if they had anyone call in with a UFO report. Nothing. So I called the police again and convinced them to take me seriously as I wanted to make a report. They told me they can send a couple of officers to my house.

As it was late and my parents were asleep, I told them I’d rather come to the station the next day to report. Next morning, when I contemplated going in, I decided not to, fearing they would think I’m some kind of wacko UFO fanatic.

As the days went by, scanning the newspapers looking for a “UFO sighting” to no avail, I started doubting myself. I was trying to convince myself that perhaps I was somehow mistaken. Maybe it was something not out of the ordinary at all. Maybe it was a balloon or airplane of some kind. Maybe like thousands of others, I witnessed something that I misinterpreted for something else.

About a week or so later, on or about the tenth page of the Toronto Star, Toronto Sun or the Mississauga News, buried in the bottom right-hand corner, there it was! A short article. “Dozens of Mississauga residents reported a UFO as big as a football field.” I don’t recall the whole article. “Finally, ” I said to myself. “I knew it was real”, “I knew I didn’t imagine this”. I’ll never, ever, doubt myself again, no matter how much ridicule I’ll be subjected to.

I have some regrets however. One is It didn’t occur to me at the time to contact the media instead of the police and the airport. My second regret is I wish I had others with me to have this one in a million experience. And most importantly, I wish I knew what I was witnessing right from the beginning so that I would have found a way to park my car and really pay attention to this strange, enormous “craft” sailing in the cold night sky.

So there you have it folks. I won a lottery of sorts. Don’t believe me? I don’t care. Still interested? Keep reading. Obviously, the Phenomenon is real and worldwide. The evidence dictates that this enigma has been here all along, since recorded history.

Science Simply hasn’t caught up with it yet in my opinion. Consider this. A thousand years ago, the greatest minds on Earth couldn’t understand why “stars fell from the heavens” (meteors), and other celestial mysteries. We today are in the same situation. We are witnessing a phenomenon that is not understood by our science, technology, and human understanding.

Check Out My Official Report Including My Drawings…CLICK HERE.

Now before, you the readers, pass judgment on me, please take the time to read what I have to say. I’m NOT a “UFO Believer” per say. In other words, I’m not a tin hat UFO fanatic who embraces this enigma as some kind of new age religion waiting for aliens from space to save mankind from himself. December 22, 2012, will just be another work day, and life will keep going on. Yup, we still have to go to work and pay our bills, no need to stock up on water, weapons or Ensure. (From my original post, pre-2012).

As I stated at the beginning, I’m just Joe Citizen with above average interest in science and nature, and especially about this vast, ancient Cosmos, who had a truly unbelievable experience which is extremely difficult to explain let alone believe. Hell, if someone were to tell me the same story, I would have a hard time believing it also.

I gave up “selling” my experience many years ago as it falls on deaf ears anyway. I’ve written to President Jimmy Carter (a witness), President Ronald Reagan (also a witness), George W. Bush and never received a response…as expected of course. Hell, they’re just politicians, figureheads who come and go. What do they really know? It’s called “plausible deniability”.

I’ve also sent my experience to my favorite, colorful, theoretical physicist, Dr. Michio Kaku. At least to my surprise he took the time and responded when I asked him why mainstream scientists shy away from this Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon business. He wrote back and said that it was because of “the giggle factor”. I can understand that since hard-core scientists need to be able to study the data in a controlled laboratory environment.

So from now on, I won’t use “UFO” as an abbreviation for “Unidentified Flying Object” as this means anything flying in the sky which cannot be identified because of lack of data, misidentification or the ignorance of the witness or witnesses. This accounts for about 90% of reports made. I will refer to this enigma as “UAPs”, “Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon” meaning after strict scientific scrutiny, with verifiable data, qualified witnesses and the sighting remains unidentified. This accounts for approximately 10% of the real, genuine reports of Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon.

Since this incident, circa 1980, I’ve collected hundreds of newspaper clippings, watched countless documentaries, and since the advent of the internet, I’ve downloaded gigabytes of reports, videos, documentaries, information, and data. I’ve watched countless video clips on YouTube and laughed at all the CGI B.S., misidentifications and ignorance from the submitter’s. To some, “The UFO Believers”, any light far off in the sky must be an “alien spacecraft”. Absurd.

I’ve been receiving UAP reports, worldwide, every day for the last 20 years or so. Even after all these decades of researching and reading, I still don’t know what this giant object was or what this phenomenon represents. I cannot be objective when it comes to this phenomenon because I saw it with my own eyes. Absolutely no doubt about it. I’m 110% sure it was real and something not from our reality. I know what I saw. It was as real as a passing train. I’m not that stupid, ignorant or uneducated to be fooled by something with a natural, down to Earth explanation, so there is no point debating my reports’ authenticity or my integrity. Folks will have to take my story at face value, believe it or not, I simply don’t care.

I don’t have an ego to bruise, a career to protect, or a reputation to lose. So what do I have to gain here by telling a tall tale, opening myself up to even more ridicule? Over the years I’ve come up with many theories and yet the answer still eludes me. Perhaps there’s someone out in the world who has some answers. I want to know. If only mainstream scientists would pull their head out of the sand and seriously investigate my experience along with millions of other witnesses from around the globe. The mainstream scientists reasoning is “it couldn’t be, therefore it isn’t”. Not very scientific, is it?

I’m not going to blindly jump on the UAP/Alien bandwagon like so many other folks in this field because it’s fashionable. I don’t have any evidence, let alone proof, that this craft was extraterrestrial in nature. After all these years, I only know two things. First, It was the largest structure I’ve ever seen or heard of in my life. Second, I know this object was from some other reality. truly, out of this world. What reality would some ask? I don’t have a clue. I’m not smart enough for that kind of question.

Scientists have learned a lot about the Cosmos in the last half century. Theoretical scientists and physicists are even speculating about Parallel Worlds, Multiverses, Multiple Dimensions, even Time Travel. So we should put the ET hypothesis at the bottom of the list. Ther are other endless possibilities of the true nature of this mystery. We have to start thinking outside the box and entertain the impossible in my opinion.

One theory of mine was I thought it might be some kind of secret American aircraft. But then after years of thinking and theorizing, I asked myself, why would the U.S be testing top-secret aircraft in the middle of winter, over a large Canadian city? This thing appeared to be showing off like it wanted to be seen.

Then I thought of the “UFO believer’s” simplistic idea that UAPs represent extraterrestrial spacecraft visiting our speck of the galaxy in this vast, ancient cosmos. It was a plausible theory at first but after thinking about it a lot, I disregarded that idea also. If an advanced extraterrestrial race were observing us, they would probably do it from a distance and use other methods we humans would not be aware of, let alone understand, unless these close encounter cases were deliberate in nature.

It’s what our scientists do now. Does a herd of Zebra know they’re being observed by an aircraft kilometers away with high-powered camera’s manned by humans? Is a colony of ants aware that their anthill is only a hundred meters away from a runway of an international airport with Homo Sapiens onboard airplanes with laptops and smartphones?

The reason I use this analogy is because of the age of the cosmos and our very short time in it, a nanosecond in the big picture. Science and logic dictate’s to me that since the universe is full of water, carbon and other elements, it has to be teeming with life, I’m 100% sure, and most of it must be beyond human comprehension. Advanced civilizations would be so far above us on the evolutionary scale as we are over the Amoeba. So it’s obvious to me that this phenomenon is far more complex, unexpected and profound than the simplistic idea of little gray beings, in their flying saucers, visiting us from other star systems.

In my opinion, the odds of direct communication with an advanced extraterrestrial civilization is highly unlikely. And even if we were confronted by an advanced civilization, would we even recognize it for what it is? But then, what the hell do I, or should I say “we” know anyway? We know more about our Moon, Solar System, even deep space, than our own planet, especially our deep oceans!

Consider this. We, humans, have only engaged about 5% of life on our planet. 80% of life is in our oceans. We’ve explored less than 5% of the oceans on our globe. Do the math.

Before we speculate about life in space, any life, we still have a lot to learn about life right here on planet Earth. Hell, we still have a long way to go. Don’t you think?

Here are couple of quotes to ponder,

“The Universe in not only queerer than we imagine, it is queerer than we CAN imagine”
John B. S. Haldane

“A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it.”
Max Planck, Theoretical Physicist, Scientific Autobiography

Well, enough about my rant folks.

Please visit my site. I’ve spent many years searching, researching, reading and constantly updating the content with the latest science news including this UAP Mystery.

NOTE – My site does not advocate the UFO/Alien conjecture regarding UAP’s as found all over the Internet by self-proclaimed experts. This elusive global Enigma is not understood by our current science, technology, human comprehension and appears to defy our laws of physics…and even after decades of gathering evidence and research remains unsolved.

Our science and technology simply have not caught up with it yet.

I am dedicated to the examination and analysis, with evidence, of the UAP/UFO Phenomenon. My purpose is to promote serious scientific interest in UAP/UFO Reality for Scientists, Academics, Investigators, and most importantly, the General Public.

Thanks for reading and listening.

Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon: Close Encounters – JAL

#UAPResearch

Part 1: JAL: NOVEMBER 17, 1986 – A Japanese airline crew is en route from Paris to Tokyo with a cargo load of Beaujolais wine. As Captain Terauchi and his crew are crossing Alaska, they encounter blindingly bright lights flying in their airspace. These lights illuminate the cockpit and seem to be keeping pace with the Boeing 747. Captain Terauchi then reports seeing two unidentified crafts, one the size of a ‘mothership’. The UFO is tracked by both ground and airborne radar, though its origins remain unknown.

Part 2: CRASH COURSE: AUGUST 27, 1979 – Deputy Sheriff Val Johnson is on patrol near Stephen, Minnesota in the early morning hours when he sees a beam of light shining down on the road ahead. As he continues to drive, the beam of light engulfs his car. Johnson briefly loses consciousness and wakes up to discover that he had skidded off the road and he’s suffering eye damage similar to welder’s burns. Both his wristwatch and the car clock have stopped for exactly 14 minutes.

Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon: Naked Science: Close Encounters

#UAPResearch

I just found and watched this 50-minute documentary. I was quite surprised because a lot of ideas and theories presented here, are literally identical to what I’ve been saying for years.

Has planet earth ever had a close encounter with aliens?

While UAPs and their occupants have been part of our culture for more than a century, and people from many walks of life claim to have seen them, we have no indisputable evidence that they’re fact rather than fiction, or do we? Naked Science speaks to witnesses of two of the most controversial UAP sightings, the Rendlesham Forest incident in the UK and the Phoenix Lights sighting in the US, as well as the most famous UAP incident of all time, Roswell.

If unidentified flying objects did come from space, how could they have traveled to earth? And how could they survive in our atmosphere? We talk to leading physicists and astrophysicists about the viability of interstellar travel and whether wormholes and warp drives could make it possible. Or perhaps extra-terrestrials will send tiny self-replicating nanobots to explore our Earth?

Close encounters originated with reported sightings of alien craft, but in the last few decades, alien contact has taken a new and more terrifying twist, alien abduction. We talk to a so-called ‘experiencer’ who claims to have been taken from her bed and experimented on. She believes her claims but could there be another, scientific, explanation for what she remembers? We talk to a neuroscientist who thinks he has the answer.

Finally, Naked Science asks possibly the most shocking question of all, could aliens already be among us?

Storyline

Close Encounters

Throughout history, countless people have reported mysterious light displays and other unexplained phenomena in the sky. Others claim to have been abducted by these unidentified flying objects, and they share eerily similar stories of intimate encounters with the alien beings that inhabit them. Government officials and skeptics have long denied the veracity of these tales, but their efforts have done little to quell the popular belief that we’ve been visited by intelligent life forms from worlds far beyond our own. The engrossing documentary Close Encounters challenges the likelihood of these claims through the prism of scientific reasoning.

The film establishes its premise by speaking with direct participants or peripheral students of three of the most notorious UAP sightings in recorded history.

In the winter of 1980 outside Suffolk, England, unexplained clusters of light streaked across the sky in the vicinity of a United States Air Force base. Several servicemen in the area bore witness to these mysterious displays. Known as the Rendlesham Forest incident, the event has inspired equal doses of skepticism and cries of government cover-up.

A similar sighting occurred nearly two decades later in Arizona as thousands of spectators described a triangular formation of lights moving across the length of their state line with Mexico. Some even testified to witnessing a V-shaped spacecraft in flight, including the state’s own governor.

Finally, the documentary tackles the granddaddy of all purported UAP sightings: Roswell. The government’s admitted misinformation campaign in the wake of this event – conducted for national security purposes during the height of the Cold War – has only intensified the convictions of those who feel we’re not alone.

In addition to these intriguing case studies, the film offers an impressive roster of knowledgeable interview subjects, including theoretical physics professor Dr. Michio Kaku, as they postulate on the possibilities of alien visitation. Is it scientifically feasible for an alien life form to make the long journey to our planet? What kind of spacecraft could accommodate such a trip through space and time? How likely is it that alien beings could survive within our unique environment? The truth is out there, and many of the answers provided in Close Encounters may surprise you.

Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon: UFOs Versus UAPs

#UAPResearch

Since the dawn of time, folks have seen strange things in the sky, but setting aside Biblical references to “Fiery Chariots”, and Twentieth Century terms such as “Scare ships”, “Foo fighters”, “Ghost Rockets” and “Ghost Aero Planes”, our story starts in 1947 with Kenneth Arnold’s sighting of nine strange objects over the Cascade Mountains in Washington State. When describing the motion (not the shape, as is often believed), he said that they moved in an odd, jerky way, “like a saucer skipped across water”. The media adapted this quote into “Flying Saucer” and a modern mystery acquired a new name.

Things stayed that way until the then Head of Project Blue Book, Edward Ruppelt, decided in around 1951 that a more scientific term was needed – not least because “Flying Saucer” had become synonymous with disk-shaped craft, whereas people were seeing a great variety of shapes. He coined the phrase “Unidentified Flying Object”, which was abbreviated to “UFO”, and slowly replaced “Flying Saucer”.

We were stuck with “UFO” for a long time – and still are, for the most part. The problem with this is that in pop culture, the term “UFO” has become synonymous with “Alien Spacecraft”, leading to nonsensical questions such as “Do you believe in UFOs?”, when what people actually mean is “Do you believe that some UFOs are extraterrestrial vehicles”?

This was a problem at the UK Ministry of Defense, when – for example – we wanted to secure funding for a highly-classified intelligence study into the phenomenon. Given competing demands on the defense budget, we were unlikely to get financial approval for any study into “UFOs”. So we changed the terminology to “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena”, which we abbreviated to “UAP”. The strategy worked and the study was funded. It evolved into what the UFO community now knows as “Project Condign”.

The closure of the UK MOD’s UFO project and the declassification and release of the huge archive of its files inadvertently led to the introduction of yet more terminology. The fact that the MOD axed the UFO project obviously didn’t stop people seeing UFOs, and while reports from the public could be ignored, if a military pilot sees a UFO that’s tracked on radar, clearly the chain of command won’t ignore it. And if a commercial aircraft has a near-collision with a UFO, clearly the UK’s Airprox Board won’t ignore that either. It’s just that such things will be looked at on a case-by-case basis, outside of any formally constituted investigative program.

This new situation created a problem, because any investigation of such incidents might be regarded as contradicting the government’s “We no longer investigate UFOs” line, which is now routinely parotid to any journalist or member of the public who asks about the subject. So pilots tend to get around this by using phrases such as “Unusual Aircraft”, “Unconventional Helicopter”, and other variations on the theme.

Aside from helping to preserve the integrity of the “We no longer investigate UFOs” line, this new terminology has other advantages. Firstly, it encourages more pilots to make reports, because the stigma of reporting a “UFO” (with the fear of being ridiculed, disbelieved or having one’s active flying status questioned) is no longer an issue. “Unusual Aircraft” carries with it the subtle implication that what was seen was a new spy plane or drone, which is perfectly acceptable for pilots to see. The other great advantage of the new phrases is that they avoid creating a Freedom of Information Act liability, as people tend to ask questions in terms of “UFOs”, and not “Unusual Aircraft”. It’s not clear to what extent this constitutes a deliberate policy (a deliberate attempt to subvert the Freedom of Information Act is illegal), as opposed to a case of “unintended benefits”.

Whatever the truth of the matter, it shows how the words and phrases that we use are important. Any graduate of psychology, media studies, politics and a host of other disciplines knows how thinking and language are inextricably bound together. The terminology we use can be deliberately chosen to provoke a reaction – positive or negative. One person’s terrorist is another person’s freedom fighter. So it is with UFOs. Phrases like “Flying Saucer” and “little green men” may have been acceptable decades ago, but now seem so old fashioned that they make the subject seem ridiculous. Even “UFO” has sufficient stigma to discourage most politicians and mainstream media outlets from wanting to be associated with the subject. Some people know this and use this knowledge deliberately to disparage the subject and those who study it.

However, the UFO community might ultimately profit from all this. Finding out more about the words and phrases that pilots and air traffic controllers use to describe UFOs will enable Freedom of Information Act requests to be better targeted. Adopting more scientific-sounding terms like “UAP” might enable Urologist’s to make their case more effectively. And being aware when someone is deliberately using archaic terminology to disparage the subject should enable the UFO community to be better aware of when it’s under attack, and thus better able to fight back.
